Hazelwood Academy was last inspected in February 2015, when Ofsted rated the Academy 'Good' in all areas of its work.

Extract from Press Release:

The report finds that “The good quality of teaching, including the teaching of reading, writing and mathematics, has led to pupils’ increasingly good progress since the academy opened.”

Head teacher, Suzanne Lloyd, says “This is a significant milestone for the whole school community; for the first time in the history of this Swindon school it has been judged better than satisfactory. This is fantastic recognition of the hard work and commitment of staff, pupils and governors over the last 18 months.  Most importantly I would like to commend our pupils on the pride and care they have shown in the Academy and their work. Ofsted praised the children on their maturity and on how well they spoke about their school.”

Chair of Governors, Julie Nurden, is equally delighted by the judgement: “I’m thrilled with the outcome of the Ofsted visit. It is a testament to the hard work by Suzanne Lloyd, and the staff and not least the children at Hazelwood. I’m very proud of them all.”
